Common questions.
Useful distinctions before your next show.
Is BenKen available on the App Store?
BenKen Stage Pro is in development and testing. A release date, pricing and public testing link have not been announced. App Store information will be added here when confirmed.
Can I use BenKen offline?
Yes, playback uses locally stored audio. Download the songs and audio you need before going offline. Cloud sharing and online sign-in need an internet connection.
Does concert sync synchronise live playback?
No. Concert sync transfers content and audio between devices. It does not provide simultaneous start, continuous audio sync or automatic failover. Keep a prepared backup device ready if you need one.
What is the difference between Follow Lyrics and sharing a set?
Follow Lyrics lets devices on the local network follow a host’s current song and lyric position. Sharing a set sends downloadable song content, including audio when selected, through cloud storage. They are separate tools.
Why are there two capo settings?
My capo changes the chord shapes shown in your lyrics. Bandmate capo only reminds you where another player places their capo. It never changes the lyrics, song key or audio. You can enter your own names for both.
Which mixer can I use?
Compatible audio interfaces and mixers can provide separate USB audio outputs. Soundcraft Ui24R is currently supported for cue recall through Cues & Show. Other mixers do not yet have a dedicated cue integration.
Does Ask BenKen use AI?
No. It searches the manual included with the app, using feature names, keywords and common questions. It shows instructions and shortcuts; it does not generate answers or upload your questions.
How do I use a MIDI looper?
BenKen can send MIDI Clock and optional Start/Stop to a selected output. The connected looper must support the relevant MIDI messages. Clock follows tempo; it does not automatically reposition a looper after seeking. Test your full setup before a show.
Where do my audio files live?
Playback uses a downloaded local copy. Cloud sharing uploads the content selected for sharing. A full backup with audio gives you a separate recovery copy. Keep a local concert and a backup before performing.
